On September 19th I got the opportunity to sit down and speak with Lakewood Linebacker and rising star Seneca Moore. We discussed him receiving his first official offer, his focus on staying on top of things, and his mindset on finishing the season.
Throughout 3 games so far in his junior year; Seneca on the defensive side has put up 16 tackles (Solo and Assists) 5 TFLS and 2 sacks; and with the effort and hard work he’s been putting in he’s earned his first official offer from Boston College. I started off by asking him what the feeling was like finally getting that offer. He told me that he couldn’t believe it and it felt “crazy” knowing that the time and effort spent working was beginning to pay off. He mentioned how getting that first offer will be a catalyst for attracting more attention and causing more schools to reach out; while not forgetting to bring up the responsibility of staying on top of things and the importance of being on point; being that the spotlight is now on him and he has expectations and standards to meet. I asked him what his focus was as the rest of the season progresses and he simply replied “we gotta get better as a team” with the recent shortcomings of the team. He emphasized they have to tie back down and start working harder, getting more serious, and “getting back in that rhythm” to potentially make the playoffs and possibly go to state to honor their senior teammates for their senior year.
Personally talking with and knowing Seneca it’s clear he’s big on team as it’s clear throughout this conversation. While discussing his offer I could tell he was very joyful and passionate about his future in football and I’m sure he’ll only continue to get better. Seneca is a player on the rise and someone to look out for as time goes on. Once again congratulations too Seneca for hitting a huge milestone in receiving his first offer and I’m appreciative for getting the opportunity of sitting down and talking with him.
