After continuous turmoil this past offseason between James Harden and the 76ers; it came out a few days ago that Harden would not be traded and he would start the season as a 76er but recently a video has surfaced of him claiming Daryl Morey is a “liar” and that he would never play for a organization he’s apart of ever again; but what really caused this sudden turn of events?
The 76ers ended the year without meeting expectations by failing to make the Conference Finals once again in this Joel Embiid era, falling to the Celtics in 7 games while being up 3-2 heading into game 6. Heading into the offseason Harden was coming up on his final year on his contract, extension talks were inevitable but they seemed to fall through. After requesting to be traded; rumors would surface about potential suitors but Philly would surprisingly put an end to the talks and it seemed that Harden would at the least start the season as a 76er, but as a surprise to many Harden would throw the entire situation into question.
A video would release of Harden claiming Daryl Morey is a “lair” and he would “never” be apart of an organization he’s apart of, and now that reports are surfacing claiming the 76ers never even officially offered Harden a new deal it seems that the relationship between Harden and Morey is no longer what it was.
Now reports come out that Morey is "unmoved" by Hardens comments and stills plan to keep him.
